On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the I-41 and I-894 interchange in West Allis, Wisconsin, a driver decided that the "road closed" sign and the physical barrier blocking the way were mere suggestions: he removed them himself and drove his pickup truck straight onto a slab of concrete freshly poured on National Avenue. The vehicle sank and became completely stuck in the middle of the wet concrete.
