Fnalysis Fnalysis. 💥 Squidpocalypse

Over 20 tons of squid spilled onto a Rhode Island road and blocked it for seven hours

On Sunday, August 16, 2026, a tractor-trailer's trailer detached and tipped over near Point Judith in Narragansett, Rhode Island, dumping more than 20 tons of squid across the roadway. The cab didn't tip and the driver wasn't hurt. Under the August sun, the squid started smelling worse by the hour while cleanup crews worked, and the road stayed closed for more than seven hours. Local police nicknamed it the "Squidpocalypse of '26" and cited the driver for failing to secure a load.
