A video showed Mark Zuckerberg warning that humanity has only a year of water left and announcing $200 billion for the "World Water Reserve"

Since August 2026, several versions of a video have circulated on Facebook and Instagram in which "Zuckerberg" says: "There is no water left for humans to survive more than one year. So we will absolutely be supporting the World Water Reserve with a $200 billion capital allocation." Some versions add commentary urging viewers to buy the tokens of that coin, known as WWR.

Why it's false: It's a deepfake. The footage is almost identical to a real meeting between Donald Trump and tech leaders, but with swapped audio and Zuckerberg's mouth altered to match. The transcript of that meeting never uses the word "water." The meeting also took place in September 2025: if the line were true, humanity would run out of water in less than a week. The coin's website has a water-infrastructure theme, but owning WWR gives no rights over any real project. According to Irish fact-checker TheJournal.ie, the same template has been used with Bill Gates, Mark Carney and Donald Trump to pump water-themed tokens.
